I seem to having to start every new blog by saying how ridiculously long it was since the last one. Well, no exception now! Now that we moved to a new city it’s weird how it somehow takes some time to set back in motion. Ofcourse, having a little babyboy makes things quite different as well. Fact is: things are great. The office and warehouse which is basically the whole first floor of our new house is great. The space is a little smaller than what we used to have, but it’s actually way better. I’ve got a great view in our back garden and I see birds hopping around right across my window.
Daily routine is actually pretty amazing. And to many others it might be ‘dull’ but I’m at my best when things are done that way. Getting up at 7.30. Suzanne gives Jules his drink and gets ready for her daily job. He gets his food around 7.00, 11.00, 15.00 19.00 and then 23.00 hour. Pretty simply and steady. And then I do all the work (well, I try to!) in between feeding Jules. Right after he gets fed, I usually bring him down to the office where he sits right with me and we listen to a variety of bands. I basicaly try and make sure he get’s a little bit of everything but he seems to enjoy the basic Rock’n’Roll stuff the best. Especially when daddy’s playing KISS or the RAMONES he’s screaming and laughing louder than the music. Most and for all when I’m singing along!
So, from being a labelboss, to a partime labelboss and partime father… or wait: it’s more like going from one job to two full time jobs. But then in the same amount of time! It’s cool however, and moving to Tilburg was the best thing we could’ve done!
So, labelnews: ofcourse we keep you updated in the news-section but since I appreciate you taking the time to read this blog as well, here’s what’s happening: We’re most likely gonna do a 12” from a full on, we dare to say, militant Straight Edge band! They’re older dudes and they’re still dedicated to the X! It was about time I’d say! Next to that, we’re doing a 12” with a new band from California. They’re buddies with Todd Jones from Terror/Blacklisted/Betrayed and well, if you know him, you’d know this band is good! Next to that, we’re negociating things with one of the ultimate doom bands from Europe for a vinyl release on Monumentum Records and a CD from an American Black Metal band where critics mentioned it as “One of the most important black metal albums ever recorded in the US”. Names? Not just yet… keep an eye out on our newsletter and website.
