Good Clean Fun
Singer/Songwriter Mr. Issa started Good Clean Fun as an idea way back in 1985. At that time he picked up a guitar, learned the entire 7SECONDS album “The Crew” and began to formulate his ideas for the perfect hardcore band. Then he put down the guitar. Years later, after bands like Crucial Youth and Gorilla Biscuits broke up, hardcore began to lose the primary reason Issa got involved in the scene in the first place: Fun.
He felt the timing was finally right for him to turn the idea of Good Clean Fun into something more concrete. So he assembled a crack team of positive hardcore professionals and together they hit the road. And the skies. And even the seas. Playing 1,000 shows on 5 continents and 6 islands*, the band left their hometown of Washington DC and brought their message of positivity directly to the people.
After a brief break to recover, the band once again hit the studio to record a new full length album entitled “Between Christian Rock And A Hard Place”. Fans of the band’s previous records will not be surprised to find the same humor, fun, and positive message that characterized the band’s earlier albums. The new record’s songs touch on many topics that will resonate with the audience. The first song, “A Little Bit Emo, A Little Bit Hardcore” is a history lesson in song form explaining where the “emo” scene which is so popular today came from. The album also contains “The MySpace Song”, a heart-wrenching and hilarious look at the effects of the internet on relationships.
If you enjoy good old-fashioned hardcore/punk with a modern twist, and if you have any sense of humor at all, you will love this band.
